Our annual Lone Star Shootout roping is a roping we started in 2018 once the George Strait roping concluded its final run. The roping happens at Lone Star Arena in Stephenville, Tx in late February.

We do a warm-up roping Thursday, qualifying rounds for the Open Friday and the short round being either Saturday night or Sunday evening pending the rodeo's going on at the time. We also do the same format for the #12.5 with qualifying rounds being Saturday and the short round Sunday.

Our calcutta is growing exponentially each year, we giveaway Bloomer trailers in both ropings, Cactus Saddles, Tres Rios Buckles, Resistol Hats, Durango Boots, and custom Kerry Kelley Spurs, and a ton of CASH! It's definitely a roping to put on your calendar to enter AND attend as a spectator.
